‘Finally my first goal in the league after 27 games’… Anthony’s special ceremony

“Dedicated to my beloved son and daughter”

Anthony finally scored his first goal in the league and revealed a special ceremony.

“Anthony explained why he celebrated scoring his first Premier League goal of the season for Manchester United with a Sonic toy,” the British outlet Goal.com reported on Sept. 29 (ET).

Anthony had a disappointing season last season despite his huge transfer fee. Sure, he performed, but in the end, he didn’t perform at all when asked if he was worth €100 million. Anthony has yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season.

Since March, Anthony has been a different player. He found his confidence after scoring in the FA Cup against Liverpool, and he also scored an assist against Chelsea. He finally scored his first league goal against Burnley.

United drew 1-1 against Burnley in the 35th round of the 2023/24 English Premier League (EPL) season at Old Trafford in Manchester, England, on Aug. 28 (ET). In the match, Anthony produced one of his best performances of the season.

In the 33rd minute of the second half, a pass from the Burnley defense was intercepted by Anthony, who used his tremendous speed to beat two opposing defenders before falling down and slotting home to make it 1-0. After scoring, Antonio was understandably overjoyed and ran to the camera, tucking the ball into his shirt as he gave the crowd a famous game of Sonic.

After the game, Anthony said it was a tribute to his young son, who loves Sonic cartoons. He also wanted to show his love to his unborn daughter and his pregnant wife, so he put the ball inside his shirt.

According to the media, Anthony said after the game, “Sonic is my son Lorenzo’s favorite cartoon. He loves that cartoon very much, he is growing up, he is 토토 my little partner in life, he makes me happy every day. And we are very much looking forward to the birth of Rabin. He is already a very loved baby by everyone.”

He added: “God is so good to my family. I’m happy to have scored a goal to pay tribute to the fans who motivate me to work to the best of my ability while wearing a United shirt that I really respect and love.”

Even though the season is coming to an end, Anthony’s confidence is encouraging. With this goal and performance, Anthony has the potential to continue to be a starter and will look to carry this momentum into next season.
