“I’ll see you at the Asian Cup”

Jürgen Klinsmann, the head coach of the Germany national soccer team, has returned to his home in the United States after completing the November A-match schedule.

“Two wins,” Klinsmann wrote on Instagram on Nov. 28, “thank you to the players, the coaches, the staff and the fans.”

“The work continues,” he added, posting a photo from an A match in November, “see you at the Asian Cup.”

Earlier, Klinsmann’s A team defeated China 3-0 in their second away match of Group C of the FIFA Confederations Cup North America 2026 Asian Qualifiers at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China on Nov. 21 (KST), thanks to two goals from Son Heung-min and an A-match debut from Jung Seung-hyun. They had previously won the first leg against Singapore 5-0 on Sept. 16.

The winning streak has also helped quieten some of the criticism directed at Klinsmann.

Klinsmann will now prepare for the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup in Qatar next January. South Korea is drawn in Group E alongside Malaysia, Jordan, and Bahrain. The tournament will be held from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10 at eight venues, including Doha and Al Rayyan. South Korea will be attempting to win the Asian Cup for the first time in 64 years since 1960.
