Ghana striker Dwamena collapses during match in ‘unfortunate tragedy for football’…ends up dead at 28

Former Ghana international striker Raphael Dwamena has died at the age of 28.
The Ghana Football Association announced the death of Dwamena, who played for Albanian club Egnatia Rogozine, on Nov. 12 (KST).

“Raphael truly cared about the Ghana national team and we will never forget his dedication,” the federation said in a statement.
According to US broadcaster CNN, the cause of Dwamena’s death is not yet known.

However, video footage showed Dwamena collapsing in the 24th minute of the first leg of an Albanian first division match between Egnatia and Partizani on November 11.

The video, shared on social media, shows players from both teams rushing to Dwamena’s aid after he collapsed.

Dwamena was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Dwamena, who represented Ghana between 2017 and 2018, collapsed in October 2021 during an Austrian League Cup match against Hassberg for Blau-Weiss Linz. 카지노사이트가이드

He reportedly underwent heart surgery and had a defibrillator implanted.

However, he collapsed again two years later and did not wake up.
Dwamena was set to move to Brighton in England in 2017 for a fee of £14 million, but the move fell through after he failed a medical.

He has since played for Levante and Real Zaragoza, among others. He was the top scorer in the Albanian league this season with nine goals.
Dwamena’s death is yet another blow to the Ghanaian soccer community, which lost former international Christian Achu to a stroke in February.

The Albanian Football Federation said it was postponing all scheduled matches this week.
