Tottenham’s Presidential Challenge Begins Quietly

Tottenham Hotspur’s challenge for the presidency is beginning cautiously.

Tottenham developed rapidly under manager Mauricio Pochettino in the 2010s, and its reputation rose tremendously, making it one of the Big 6 of the Premier League (PL).

The team was classified along the same lines as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal, but Tottenham and 5 other teams expressed doubt. 바카라사이트

The argument was that even though its reputation has grown tremendously in recent years, it is located in London, and it has many star players, its winning record must be looked at.

Tottenham’s last victory in England’s first division was in the 1960-61 season. It’s been over 60 years.

The last time they won the English FA Cup was in the 1990-91 season.

There is no record of winning the UEFA Champions League (UCL), and the UEFA Cup, currently the UEFA Europa League (UEL), was won in the 1983-84 season.

The most recent trophy was winning the English Football League Cup (EFL Cup) in the 2007-08 season.

Since then, they have not won a championship for 15 years.

Moving on to next year, it will be 16 years.

The lack of trophies and even the absence of ties for more than 15 years have become obstacles to Tottenham becoming a truly prestigious team.

There were also setbacks in recruiting star players, and most of those who shone in the 2010s left.

There was continued criticism of the board for not investing as much as other teams, and the recent attempts to bring in famous managers were met with skepticism as they failed one after another.

Anxiety was heightened ahead of this season.

They appointed manager Enze Postecoglou, who was successful at Celtic but had no managerial experience in the big league, and Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich.

James Madison, Guglielmo Vicario, Mickey van der Pen, Manor Solomon, and Brennan Johnson joined, but expectations were not high.

Most of the players had never experienced the so-called taste of winning. Also, the prevailing view was that he would continue his military service.

Currently, 9 games have been played in the PL. Although it is early in the season and there are 29 games left, it is correct to say that Tottenham is in the process of challenging for the presidency.

Tottenham played 9 games, winning 7 and drawing 2. We didn’t just play against low-ranking teams.

We met with top teams such as Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Nevertheless, they are ranked first in the PL without losing.

Coach Postekoglou’s pressure-focused offensive football is excellent in terms of content, and the new recruits Maddison and Vicario are showing good performances, and the revival of players like Yves Bissoumagua, who were underperforming under coach Antonio Conte, has been a great help.

Captain Son Heung-min also plays a big role. Son Heung-min showed excellent leadership and scored a whopping 7 goals, making up for the scoring that had been a concern due to Kane’s absence.

He also has some insecurities.

With Richarlison underperforming, injuries continued to appear in the offensive line.

Aside from the offensive line, the overall squad depth is thin, so if one or two key players are missing, the existing system is likely to not work.

It is also a concern that many players will miss out in January next year due to the Asian Cup and African Cup of Nations.

Although there are many problems like this, Tottenham is sprinting by exceeding its goal.

Of course, the probability of Tottenham winning the PL is still low.

It is not a monopoly system, and Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, etc.

can take first place at any time. Nevertheless, Tottenham is taking at least one small step toward winning the PL.

If the current ranking and situation are maintained after Christmas and after the continental competition ends, everyone will judge that Tottenham has joined the race for the top spot.
