World No. 1 Ahn Se-young (Samsung Life Insurance) has reached the singles final of the women’s
badminton at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games. “My coach told me to enjoy the match, and I did,” Ahn said in a relaxed manner.
Ahn defeated world No. 5 He Bingjiao (CHN) in straight sets 2-0 (21-10 21-13) in the women’s singles
badminton quarterfinals at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games at Binjiang Gymnasium on Saturday (June 6) in Hangzhou, China.
“This was a very successful challenge, and I did it,” Ahn said after the match, according to MyInfo, the organizing committee’s news site.
Ahn will face the winner of China’s Chen Yufei (No. 3) and Japan’s Aya Ohori (No. 20) in the final. Based on the rankings and the atmosphere, Chen Yufei is the favorite.

Ahn expressed confidence in facing Chen Yufei, saying, “(Chen Yufei) will be more stressed than me
because she is playing in her home stadium.” Ahn had previously defeated Chen Yufei in the team event.
Chen Yufei is from Hangzhou, where she is supported by many Chinese fans.
On the other hand, Ahn played with a taped right knee. “I was worried about the condition of my knee,
but when I stood on the court, I was looking forward to the match,” he said, explaining that it was no big deal.
Ahn Se-young, who earlier won South Korea’s first gold medal in 29 years in the women’s team event, will
