The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) announced today that it has created a new “Mum and Dad VIP Zone” at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Mapo-gu, Seoul, a dedicated space for parents to watch football with their young children. The Mum and Dad VIP Zone is located on the fourth floor of the southeast side of the Seoul World Cup Stadium, with a total area of 230 square metres. It is equipped with 10 sofa seats that can seat three to four adults, a 16-square-metre infant mini football zone where children under the age of five can play mini football, a playroom for infants and toddlers, and a nursing room. The VIP zone for mums and dads was the idea of football fans. The complex surveyed visitors to professional football club FC Seoul’s home games last year about their experience of watching the game and accepted the opinion that it would be good to introduce seats for families with infants and toddlers, so the new space was installed. The Mum and Dad VIP Zone will be piloted from the FC Seoul vs Gwangju FC match at 2pm on the 17th of this month and will be available to 10 teams per match.
