Lotte Chowchan retires from active play

after 112 career wins, ending 16-year professional career

Lotte Chau-chan announces his retirement from active duty.

Left-handed pitcher Choo Chan (36-Lotte Giants), who won 112 games in his KBO career, 섯다 has announced his retirement from active play.

The team announced on Sunday, “Chau-chan has decided to retire. He has been preparing hard from spring training until recently with the idea that this year will be his last, but his body and condition have not kept up, so he has decided to retire,” the team said in an official statement.

Born in 1987, Chauchan was drafted by the Samsung Lions in the second round in 2006. He became a dominant left-handed starter for the Samsung Lions, winning 64 games (48 losses) through the 2016 season before becoming a free agent before the 2017 season and moving to the LG Twins.

Chowchan was an integral part of the starting staff for LG, winning 10 or more games in three straight years from 2017 to 2019. However, 온라인섯다 injuries led to a downward spiral in 2020, and he left the organization after winning just five games in 2020 and two in 2021.

Chau-chan then signed with Lotte for an annual salary of 50 million won (excluding incentives) to start over. He has been working hard to rebuild his career since spring training.

After starting the season with the Futures (second team), Chau-chan made his first appearance against the SSG Landers (second team) on June 10, pitching one inning of one-hit ball with two strikeouts and no walks to earn his way back to the first team.

However, he later fell ill again, and when he was unable to pitch normally, he made the difficult decision to hang up his jersey.

Chowchan leaves the field with a professional record of 112-79, 32 shutouts, one save, 고스톱 and a 4.51 ERA in 457 games in the first division.
