-Recapping 2022-23

In its report, RGC recapped its public service announcement on the risks of iGaming and sports betting, aired on Canadian networks in collaboration with thinktv. It accumulated over 100 million impressions. Also, the organization utilizes RG Check to conduct the first round of accreditations with 17 of Ontario’s newly licensed online gaming operators for the local market.

RGC also issued a Super Bowl survey conducted on Ontarians who heard they plan to watch and bet on the final. It found that 49% wanted and planned to place wagers on the game. This information delivered important insights into the strengths of the operators’ RG strategies and programs, allowing them to find where enhancements were needed to optimize consumer protection.

Ms. White noted the council was grateful to all those who collaborated with research, training, RG Check accreditation program, or prevention education programs. She also thanked the Board of Directors and staff for their devotion to the organization’s vision ‘A world where gambling never comes at a human cost’ and ongoing efforts to enhance prevention measures.

Lastly, she said RGC will still try to be a bold, courageous and transparent RG leader in Ontario, Canada, and worldwide. It will try to use the momentum and continue to work with stakeholders to enable an even wider RG culture.
